Odysseus and Abraham. This essay meditates the Christian account of time by opposing the figures of the ancient hero Odysseus and the patriarch Abraham. While Odysseus represents a cyclical understanding of time and a scheme of originating from the Divine and returning to it, Christian faith emphasizes that God brings about something radically new in history. This even affects the concept of God itself leading to the notion of a «pasqual innovation» in God.
