Musing about Time and Happiness: Time fades? But first it has come to us. To be is to have begun: out of an given beginning. So to be is to be wanted, wished: called for – out of nothing. This donation is celebrated by feasts, in celebration of thanks: acceptance, adoption: of me, of us, of our world. To thank means (F. v. Baader) to recognize the presence of the giver in his giving and gift. Therefore gratitude is not alone looking back, but also ahead, forward, anticipating, trusting. Hope speaks in petitions, begging. Evils and malignities are not forgotten; but people celebrate their feasts though. And not solely because of the gifts accepted , but with regard of the goodness and charitableness of the Giver, out of gratitude for his glory.
