«Thy Word is a Lamp unto my Feet, and a Light unto my Path»: The Bible in the Lives of Protestant Christians. Words and stories from the Bible have significance in Protestantism in various fields of life: in the private devotion as well as in worship services, sacred music, baptisms, wedding ceremonies, and pastoral care. Quite often it is the translation of Martin Luther, which is read, but there are numerous other possibilities – «where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty» (2 Kor 3, 17).
