Theology and Literature in Dialogue: Romano Guardini and Hans Urs von Balthasar. After a short description of their biography the article provides a presentation of the vivid interest of Hans Urs von Balthasar and Romano Guardini for literature. Their first encounter in Berlin was marked by Kierkegaard and continuated with their correspondence and visits. The way of both scholars was different: Hans Urs von Balthasar's way led from literature to theology, while Romano Guardini arrived from theology at literature. The two scientists dedicated important papers and monographs to the great poets and writers and demonstrated a fruitful dialogue between theology and literature.
