We Want Mission – But What is «Mission»? Reflections on the «Mission Manifest» from a Missiological Perspective. This article deals with the «Mission Manifest» and its implicit understanding of mission. By pointing out its ecclesiocentric tendency, its stress on the conversion and personal relationship to Jesus Christ (in difference to the plantatio ecclesiae), its disregard of the concrete missionary praxis in African or Asian countries and a rather limited approach to dialogue (either with other religions and worldviews or with «the world»), it shows the significant differences existing between the understanding of mission by the «Mission Manifest» and the post-Vatican II renewed understanding of mission.
