Mittendrin: Im Leben. In der Verheißung. In der Herausforderung: Missionarisches Ordensleben in Großstädten Von Christine Müller COMMUNIO 49 (2020) 254-263, Thema, Lesedauer: ca. 13 Minuten / 0 Kommentare Abstract / DOI Right in the Middle: Missionary Religious Life in Big Cities. Religious life is missionary by its very nature. The proclamation of the Gospel is realized differently according to the mission model of each religious order. Here the eschatological and charismatic-prophetic orientation of religious life comes into play. For the mission of religious to succeed in modern cities, religious life has to be in communication with the circumstances of the cities. That allows insights to be gained into the "how" and "what" of mission. Since modern cities are strongly marked by plurality and the gap between rich and poor, the focus of mission can be seen, in combination with the essential characteristics of religious life, in spiritual accompaniment in a broad sense as well as the option for the poor.
