Body – Corpus – Image: On the Search for the Sources of Theological Knowledge in Art. The contribution investigates the question of theological knowledge in art. According to the cornerstones of theological history on the question of images («Prolegomena»), Christianity in this prismatic refraction is not seen as a religion of the book, nor as a religion that marks transcendence, trace or aura, but rather as a religion of the body. It is through this that the Word becomes incarnate: incarnation, emptying, redemption, exaltation, metamorphosis. It is the «physical» that interests the author here, less the «literal». It is an «Archimedean point» for theological knowledge with which the question in this booklet could be productive: the body - the abused, loving, suffering, perhaps also transfigured body. After «Errata», examples of problematic body images, the contribution with «Propria» follows up some examples from contemporary art that should be mentioned for this topic.
