Synodality and the Anglican Tradition. All our thinking about ‹synodality› in the Church must be bound up with how we walk with Christ, how the paschal mystery is lived out in us; our capacity to work, pray and discern together in ‹synodical› mode is grounded in the Christ whose Spirit gives us the power of speaking to one another in language that can be understood. This article examines historical backgrounds of ‹synodality› especially in the Church of England and tries to note some of the pitfalls in constructing representative synodical instruments of ecclesial governance. Most important is, after all, that the Church at large, Anglican or otherwise, should see synodality first as a way of understanding our mutual responsibility and interdependence.
