Another Autonomy: Vocation Between External Determination and Self-Determination. The understanding of vocation has elitist connotations up to the present day and is also exposed to inquiries concerning the modern understanding of freedom and autonomy. The article wants to underline the perspective of Ignatian spirituality, starting from a broad concept of vocation. The concept of vocation stands in an unresolvable tension of activity and passivity and can be anthropologically understood in terms of a «creative passivity».
