Zur Datierungsfrage des Ersten Clemensbriefs: Eine exemplarische Evaluation anhand der Argumente bei Lightfoot und Edmundson Von Andreas Pflock RQ 1 (2020) 94-126 Zusammenfassung / Abstract “The Problem of dating the First Letter of Clement: An exemplary evaluation based on the arguments of Lightfoot and Edmundson” – This article addresses the historical question about the probable date of the First Letter of Clement, which was sent to Corinth by the Roman Church in early christian times. Since the dating of this letter is disputed, two eminent scholars on this field with their position are presented. In a last step the different arguments are analyzed. The evaluation comes to the conclusion that the validity of the predominant opinion, which dates the letter in the later 90s of the first century, isn’t as strong as generally accepted.
