Zusammenfassung / Abstract
“The Pontificium Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum between international profile and national interests in the 19th and 20th centuries” – This paper shows how the Roman Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum, which is, by its very nature, an international offer to the people of a particular region, developed into a national institution in the 19th and 20th centuries and also willingly appealed to crowns and nations in order to be able to exercise its function as a training centre for candidates for priesthood. Nevertheless, it never really became a national institution, because internationality was always preserved in the form of persons and ideas which, if necessary, also offered protection from crowns and nations.
