Zusammenfassung / Summary
This essay means an attempt to interpret Heidegger’s late text „The want of holy names“ („Der Fehl heiliger Namen“) sentence by sentence. The genitive of the German title can be read in two different ways - as the loss of holy names in contemporary technological age and as a kind of withdrawal within the holy names itself (as a moment that refuses every economy of being at disposal). Dealing with this tension Heidegger asks for the participation in an area of openness and saving. The essay points out that Heidegger’s aim is to look for a change of view to enable another perception of time. Homelessness and uncanniness that go along with the loss of every noetic security may lead to a new kind of presence in the present and may guarantee that the past remains open for further interpretation in the future.
