Zusammenfassung / Summary
Based on the fact that Karl Rahner in the early period of his studies intensively dealt with Origen this essay examines for the first time the significance of the Alexandrian theologian for the Jesuite’s theology. It will be demonstrated, that Rahner and Origen share the fundamental idea, stating that each human being forever exists as „hearer of the Word” in the horizon of God`s gracious selfrevelation and that Rahner develops on this foundation his understanding of different questions concerning the Christian kerygma in a way, that is strikingly similar to Origen’s interpretations.
